While not as widely used as cotton, linen towels spun from flax fibers are also used for bath linens. Linen fabric is made from flax which is a strong plant that grows with very little required pesticides or fertilizers, creating a virtually organic product by nature.
This fabric is durable, linen can endure 20 years of wear, but it is
also incredibly comfortable and flexible. The flax plant does not
require much energy or water resources to produce and the entire plant
used to make linen, leaving no waste footprint.
For centuries, linen bath towels were seen as the epitome of luxury in
bath towels. This is true for bath towels made with flax. To help soften
the feel of linen for bath towels, flax fibers are often spun together
with organic cotton fibers, making a linen/cotton blend that is both
smooth and plush.
